10 Sh*tty Storylines Bobbly Lashley Endured En Route To WWE Championship

WWE has a strange obsession with tormenting legitimate wrestling couples for whatever reason. There was ‘Macho Man’ and Miss Elizabeth, Sable and Marc Mero, and more recently, Rusev and Lana.

Aside from booking them apart, one of WWE’s early attempts to split the pair was a four-way love dance between the couple as well as Dolph Ziggler and Summer Rae. However, the fun didn’t stop there.

In 2020, WWE treaded similar waters when Bobby Lashley charmed Lana away and engaged in a series of over-the-top battles with Rusev. Booking them against each other would’ve been enough. Instead, the men were shoved into a contrived love triangle story. Whereas the all-out arena brawls could have helped rescue the feud, they failed to make an impact due to creative's propensity to copy and paste big stunts.

Fans also cringed at moments such as ‘The All Mighty’ slipping under the covers with Lana, only for Rusev to shrug it off during interviews. His growing lack of interest made the entire ordeal seem pointless, and fans soon showed a lack of interest, too.

For a brief moment, Liv Morgan joined the fray, claiming Lana not only cheated on Rusev but her as well. The angle was almost immediately dropped, and so was the entire storyline soon after. ‘The Bulgarian Brute’ was granted his release, and Lana either did nothing or disappeared before unceremoniously breaking up with her new hubby.
