10 Sh*tty Storylines Bobbly Lashley Endured En Route To WWE Championship

Rumblings of Bobby Lashley’s return surfaced shortly before WrestleMania 34, but he didn’t step back into the squared circle until the following episode of Monday Night Raw. After all the fanfare and anticipation, what kind of impact did the former World Heavyweight Champion make on WWE?

Almost none, at least at the very beginning.

His first victim from the enormous WWE roster was no other than the always reliable sacrificial lamb, Elias.

Although he may deserve a much better booking, Elias serves as a go-to jobber for WWE brass, which might have been why he was selected to be squashed by Lashley night in and night out. The problem was, by the time Lashley reached the resident musician, he had been beaten so many times that it came off less like an act of dominance and more of one that made the former MMA fighter kind of look like a bully.

Instead of moving on from the rivalry right away, WWE decided to really spice things up by tossing both men into a series of repetitive multi-man tag matches. Whereas he went on an undefeated streak upon his initial debut, Lashley’s return to the sports entertainment company got off to a much rockier start, and he soon found himself lost in the shuffle.
