Much like the feud with Rusev, Bobby Lashley squaring off with Braun Strowman had the makings of a marquee match so long as WWE didn’t screw it up.

Which, of course, the company absolutely did.

Many fans were excited when ‘The Almighty’ and ‘The Monster Among Men’ crossed paths as a team in 2018. Surely, this would’ve led to the classic friends-turned-enemies scenario, but it never quite got there.

It wasn’t until around the time of the 2019 Super ShowDown that Lashley and Strowman started to have a proper feud. It started strong, with each competitor costing the other man various matches. Unfortunately, WWE couldn’t quite follow up the initial intrigue of two big blocky men slugging it out in the squared circle.

When the brawls and No-DQ stipulations became a little too repetitious, Vince McMahon and his ever-so creative team came up with some of the most incredible ways to showcase the unparalleled power of both men through stunning concepts such as pitting the two juggernauts in a fierce battle of Tug-O-War.

Then WWE returned to the brawls and No-DQ stuff.

Ultimately, Lashley would actually take a loss at Extreme Rules during a Last Man Standing Match and fall a fair distance from the Universal and World Championships. He later returned in September to make out with Lana and entered a feud with Rusev, but that… that certainly wasn't much better.
