10 Sh*tty Storylines Bobbly Lashley Endured En Route To WWE Championship

Whether you enjoyed the 2018 feud between Bobby Lashley and Sami Zayn might have a lot to do with what kind of content you expect and enjoy from WWE.

No, no. That’s wrong. There wasn’t anything for anyone to enjoy during the Lashley-Zayn saga.

It didn’t matter if you preferred your rasslin’ to be serious, hilarious, or hilariously bad. WWE chose none of these avenues when it came to pitting the two gifted performers against each other. Lashley mostly relied on the chairman’s preferred shows of strength, and although Zayn was a talented wrestler, he mostly resorted to tired cowardly antics. It was a real shame that the two men couldn’t have had a more serious confrontation.

The storyline hardly made up for things either. Something like an organic bloodlust between the two men would have put butt in seats, but WWE decided to head another way.

Vince McMahon’s creative wizards showed off their unmatched originality and charm by subjecting both men to a series of skits that, hopefully, will completely vanish from our memories. Notably, there was the cringe-inducing schtick with Lashley’s “sisters” and Zayn challenging ‘The All Mighty’ to an obstacle course. Granted, the latter was somewhat funny, it still did little to add value to the storyline. Likewise, neither the creative nor booking did much to move Lashley closer to the main event picture.
