5. Adrian Neville Will Debut As Mighty Mouse
The Theory: Former NXT Champion Adrian Neville will make his proper full roster debut as Mighty Mouse. Yes, Mighty Mouse.
The Evidence: Dubbed 'The Man That Gravity Forgot', aerial ace Neville is one of, if not the, best flier in the world. He also has a great look and has improved his promos tenfold in recent months, thanks to his celebrated feud with Sami Zayn. Still though, what works in NXT doesn't necessarily work on Raw or Smackdown (see: Adam Rose) and WWE will be tempted to tamper with Neville's persona and look when he gets called up. There have been worrying rumours recently that Vince McMahon wants to give Neville a 'Mighty Mouse' gimmick, a gimmick that Vince originally wanted to give to Chris Candido back in the mid-90's. For those unaware, Mighty Mouse was a children's cartoon superhero whose popularity peaked in the 1940's. Naturally, the out-of-touch Vince probably thinks this is a fantastic concept for a wrestler during the PG era. Exactly whether he is after a Mighty Mouse-esque character or Mighty Mouse himself is unclear and could prove to be a copyright nightmare.
Will It Happen: Let's hope not. Neville is way too talented and has spent way too long in development to be saddled with a potentially career-killing gimmick like this when he is brought up. Remember the 'Power Ranger' chants that MVP received when he first debuted? Neville's career will be dogged by chants of 'Mighty Mouse' long after he drops the gimmicks if that is indeed what he debuts with. It's probable that this is just an internet rumour, only one that has been gaining a lot of traction (and ridicule) as late.
