10 Shocking (But Believable) Theories About WWE In 2015

6. Daniel Bryan Will Lose The Royal Rumble But Main Event WrestleMania (Again)

The Theory: WWE will ignore fans' pleas (again) by not having Daniel Bryan win the 2015 Royal Rumble but, due to fan demand/pressure, he will end up main eventing WrestleMania (again). The Evidence: WWE almost screwed up beyond repair last year when they had Batista win the Royal Rumble just a couple of weeks after his return. The fans in the Consol Energy Center wanted Daniel Bryan, who had contested a superb bout against fellow rising star Bray Wyatt earlier in the night, to win instead. That WWE gave the win to Batista, a man who was returning as a future movie star and previous Rumble winner, was deemed an insult against wrestlers like Bryan, who had been working hard to entertain them for years. When fans realised that Bryan wasn't even going to be in the match, they turned on it and booed babyface winner Batista out of the building. Has WWE learned from its mistakes? History tells us that, no, it probably hasn't. Although Bryan has been featured heavily on TV since returning from injury and the crowd reaction to him remains the same, WWE is currently grooming Roman Reigns from the top and, after setting the eliminations record last year, he must be the odds-on favourite to win the Rumble. Reigns winning over Bryan could be the thing that makes Reigns an accidental heel, such is Bryan's popularity at present. Will It Happen: This one has a good chance of happening but it probably won't. It's a little too early to tell what direction WWE is heading on the road to WrestleMania but it's likely that last year was Bryan's moment and that he won't be getting another day in the sun soon. It was always expected that his first reign with the belt would be a short, caretaker reign and it's unlikely he'll get another soon. Bryan has also made it clear that he wants to wrestle Brock Lesnar and, with it looking like Lesnar is leaving immediately after 'Mania, now is the time to do it. Should that match happen, it won't be in the main event and it won't be for the WWE Championship.
