10 Shocking Jobs Wrestlers Held After Leaving The Spotlight
4. Muhammad Hassan - High School Vice Principal
Muhammad Hassan was a hot commodity in WWE in 2005. With his heat-seeking anti-American gimmick, Hassan was amid a meteoric rise to the top of the industry, and was even rumoured to win the World Heavyweight Championship from Batista at SummerSlam.
Sadly for the young newcomer, WWE would go too far in their pursuit of heel heat. A questionable terrorist-like angle on SmackDown the day of the London bombings was the final straw. The controversial superstar was axed from TV after losing to The Undertaker at The Great American Bash, and was never seen in WWE again.
A good worker in the ring, it was a genuine shame to see a talent like Hassan dropped over an angle beyond his control. Nevertheless, he effectively left the business after the PPV loss and went on to pursue an acting career that morphed into a semi-successful writing career.
Eventually, Hassan - whose real name is Marc Copani - became a complete civilian once again and found a new life as a high school history and social studies teacher. He has since worked his way up to vice principal, and has yet to step foot in a wrestling ring since his character was dropped over a decade ago.
