The ending of The Great American Bash (2004) is notorious in wrestling for The Undertaker killing off the Paul Bearer character, his long-time manager. It was an angle that spawned many complaints from viewers of witnessing a kayfabe murder.

After The Deadman won the main event over The Dudley Boyz following a Tombstone Piledriver in a ‘Handicap Concrete Crypt Match’ (you read that right), he pulled a lever to a cement truck which then filled a glass crypt with cement with Paul Bearer trapped inside. The stunt was pulled off by footage of Bearer screaming and wailing being filmed earlier in the day in a pre-tape, and then on the night in front of a live audience a stunt double masquerading as Bearer being used in the crypt.

But what happened for some viewers/markets was the rehearsal footage from earlier in the day ended up being aired at the ending of The Great American Bash PPV. The footage had Undertaker and Bearer in the empty arena casually going through with the rehearsal of the cement crypt, which at the time was some of the rarest footage available of Undertaker casually being out of character in his heyday.
