Before the Money In The Bank PPV in July, 2011, there were rumours that CM Punk was interested in taking a sabbatical from being on the road full-time. Tired of the relentless schedule in WWE, Punk fancied a little holiday, healing up injuries and living life for a while. Reportedly lured back by a fat new contract, and promises of a run with the WWE Title, Punk nonetheless cut the promo of a lifetime on Monday Night Raw. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OS9wZGb_3g Armed with nothing but a microphone, Punk would give shout outs to Colt Cabana, mention Ring Of Honor, and insult everyone from Vince McMahon to Stephanie McMahon and Triple H, captivating the crowd at the same time. Afterwards, the internet promptly went nuts over some of the things Punk had said, and some even went as far to say it was one of the best unscripted promos of all time. It cannot be denied, Punk showed he could talk the talk with this one segment, and was pushed firmly into the main event scene pretty much for good, right up until his departure in early-2014.
