10 Shocking Real Life Incidents From WCW

5. Eric Bischoff Spills Coffee On Eddie Guerrero, Disrespects Lucha Libre, Turns It Into An Angle

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTSpt9xGfIc On August 17, 1998, Eddie Guerrero walked out on Monday Nitro with his rolling suitcase in tow, and asked for his release. As a part of the promo, he spilled coffee on himself, claimed that the company disrespected him and his Mexican compatriots and promptly left the arena. From this promo, Eddie became the leader of the short-lived faction of the Latino World Order. How this so very inside moment hit the air comes from Guerrero visited Bischoff in his office at a TV taping, asking Bischoff for his release because he felt underutilized by the company. Angry, Bischoff slapped a cup of coffee off of the desk, directly onto Guerrero's pants. Another case of a way-too-inside shoot being used by WCW for an attempt at long-term gain, it's one of those moments that truly showcases again, why WCW went out of business.
