10 Shocking WCW Plans You Won't Believe Almost Happened

Yes, Ric Flair almost became Spartacus.

The list of wacky things that actually happened under the banner of World Championship Wrestling is long. Towards the end of the promotion's run, WCW made some unbelievably confusing decisions, such as making Oklahoma the Cruiserweight Champion. As if that wasn't bad enough, actor David Arquette actually held the WCW World Title. It really seemed like the once vibrant organisation had desperately run out of even decent ideas. Throwing everything they could at the wall and praying that some of it might stick, WCW management were fighting a losing battle by the turn of the millennium. Seemingly everything the company had tried to reinvigorate the product only made things worse. From ending Bill Goldberg's much-vaunted winning streak, to rehashing the 'Montreal Screwjob' at Starrcade 1999, fans simply weren't enthused by what WCW were presenting. There were a lot of crazy things that did happen, but what about those shocking plans which didn't come to pass? That's exactly what this article aims to focus on, those moments of madness that were discussed in WCW creative meetings, but never actually happened. After reading on and finding out about these plans, wrestling fans might realise that things could have been a whole lot different for the promotion. In fact, some of these ideas may have even made things worse!
