10 Shocking WCW Plans You Won't Believe Almost Happened
10. WCW Almost Aired An Incredibly Racist Tag-Team
These days, Booker T is a WWE Hall Of Famer who is more commonly found on the pre-PPV Kickoff shows. His brother, Stevie Ray, holds a WWE Legends contract, and occasionally helps train at the WWE Performance Center. Together, the duo were one of the most successful tag-teams in WCW history. Known as Harlem Heat, the siblings held the WCW Tag-Team Titles on 10 occasions. Back in the early-90's, the tandem were simply trying to make a name for themselves. They definitely would have done had one WCW idea come to fruition. Dubbed 'Kane' (Stevie Ray) and 'Kole' (Booker T), the original plan was for the brothers to be black slaves who were won by Colonel Robert Parker during a gambling spree. Quite clearly, this is more than a little racially insensitive. Making things even worse, Parker was scheduled to drag both wrestlers to the ring in chains. This surely would have been highly controversial, and didn't actually end up appearing on television. The gimmick was wheeled out on a house show, but the reaction was overwhelmingly negative.
