10 Shocking WCW Plans You Won't Believe Almost Happened

1. Randy Savage Nearly Bought WCW's Tape Library

During a 2001 shoot interview, 'Macho Man' Randy Savage candidly disclosed his interest in buying the entire WCW tape library. Before Vince McMahon and the WWF would swoop in and take over, Savage was considering a bid. Of course, the WCW carrot has been a big earner for WWE in terms of DVD sales and for content on the WWE Network. If Savage had owned it, things could be very different. In his own words, Randy Savage was talking with various investors about helping him scrape together the funds to buy the video archive. During the same shoot interview, the legendary wrestler remarked that he would have then been interested in putting together his own DVD releases. The plan was to record his own narration and hooks in between matches and release several 'Best Of WCW' discs. Intriguingly, Savage hints that he was achingly close to securing the necessary money he needed. However, time was limited. Once Vince McMahon and the WWF became aware of how cheaply they could purchase the tape library for, it was a done deal. That in mind, it's astounding to think what might have happened had Randy Savage been the one to buy it over. What other shocking WCW plans that never happened can you think of?
