10 Shocks We Might See At WWE Night Of Champions 2014

2. Hulk Hogan Will Return

Yes, Hogan has been basically a walking, talking WWE Network shill since he escaped from TNA Hell and made his return to McMahonland a few months ago. However, Hogan still does have value as a legend who appears occasionally and in the right circumstances. Obviously, Hogan is no long able to work a match (no matter what he says) and no one is going to build a main event feud around a senior citizen with bad hips, bad knees, a bad back, and bad everything else. Hogan's glory days are certainly behind him but there is a spot for him in current storylines. Hulk would be the perfect participant in the Rusev storyline. Since Rusev is basically ripped right out of 1985 with the Russian flag stuff and the pictures of Vladimir Putin, why not insert the biggest star of 1985 into the storyline? If this were the mid 1980s, Rusev would actually be a token Hogan opponent. Back in those days, a big heel would destroy lower midcard guys, go undefeated on television, and set his sights on Hogan. Hulk would respond by saying he's going to destroy the foreign menace because he's a Real American and he has the power of Hulkamania, brother. Then, Rusev and Hulk would tour the house show circuit making about $20,000 a night for about six weeks before beating him on television to blow off the feud. Wash, rinse, repeat. Unfortunately, this is no longer 1985 and Hogan's days as a top guy are long, long, long over. But, if he's used effectively in the storyline (possibly as a manager or trainer for a new Rusev opponent), then there is still value.
