10 Shocks WWE Could Pull At Royal Rumble 2020

4. Matt Riddle Eliminates Brock

Besides, there's another former UFC man who could use the Lesnar rub more.

Both Rumbles are likely to feature a handful of NXT stars. The former developmental brand is on a level playing field with Raw and SmackDown since moving to USA Network, and there's no value in presenting it as inferior from now on. The Rumble should continue Survivor Series' hard work on that front.

WWE has a chance to write two big chapters into the 'Mania 2020 book during the men's match. They can have Brock Lesnar emerge as a romping, stomping, unstoppable force, then write Matt Riddle as the tonic to his domination. That, if written correctly and without familiar touches of WWE comedy, could be this generation's defining feud.

It'd be key that Riddle eliminated Brock with purpose. This can't be Maven dropkicking The Undertaker from behind in 2002. It has to mean more than that over the piece and establish Riddle as NXT's premier 'Beast' beater.

Neither man needs to win either. That's the beauty of it.
