10 Shocks WWE Could Pull At SummerSlam 2018

1. Brock Lesnar Retains The Universal Championship

The Shock:

After three years of the most tiresome, empty redemption story ever spun by WWE, Brock Lesnar once again eviscerates Lex Luger. In order for this to happen, Lesnar must withstand at least seven F5s - f*ck me - to paint Roman as even more of a "valiant loser" than at WrestleMania 34. Sika would go Bruce Hart at SummerSlam '94 apesh*t, were this to happen.

But will it?

The Likelihood: 70%

Joe Peisich, of the Barnburner's Fired Up podcast, recently revealed that Lesnar is set for a crunch meeting with WWE officials hours before SummerSlam takes place. This should inspire sheer terror among those who quite like there to be any sort of point to the events of Monday Night RAW. In a feud defined by repetition, this meeting may result in the second of two secret swerves this year - i.e., with Vince orchestrating a plot to withhold another Lesnar victory from an Internet convinced that it's the Big Dog's time. McMahon hates belts, but the sight of the Universal Title sharing equal billing on Lesnar's shoulders with the UFC Heavyweight Title would surely pop the mad king.

The Undertaker is physically shot, Ronda Rousey is outstanding, but no longer a novelty, and there's no sign of The Rock nor Batista returning from Hollywood. Lesnar may be needed for and open to appearing at 'Mania 35.

This would become the banter moment of the year, and for that reason, here's hoping it happens.
