10 Shocks WWE Could Pull At WrestleMania 34

6. Carmella Cashes In

WWE loves providing a WrestleMania Moment (™), and loves equally humiliating its talent. Booking Carmella to unsuccessfully cash in her Money In The Bank briefcase is a perfect storm of near inevitability.

What would it accomplish? Less than holding the briefcase has accomplished for Carmella, which is nothing. You suspect the entire finish of the first-ever! Women's Money In The Bank match was built around the drastically misjudged sight gag that was James Ellsworth winning it on her behalf. Since that was retconned, James Ellsworth has been involved in more singles feuds with the women of the blue brand than the number zero contender to the SmackDown Women's Title, and he was released in November 2017.

Carmella doesn't deserve this treatment. She's a riot in her role as a chancer. But she doesn't deserve a for-the-sake-of-the-banter push at the expense of a brilliant long-term storyline stretching back over multiple years, either. She might even enjoy occupying highlight reels for years to come - it must be preferable to wrestling endless multi-woman tag bouts on TV - but a switch to RAW and a disputed cash-in storyline is surely something her improvement deserves.
