No, this has nothing to do with the wise-cracking Marvel character, Ryan Reynolds or any of that good stuff. The Dead Pool was instead WCW's attempt to build a new faction around Raven, this time with Vampiro and on/off wrestlers/rappers The Insane Clown Posse, in 1999.

It didn't last very long.

One little known fact about the group is that they were initially called 'The Necro-Ward'. When that swiftly changed to Dead Pool, fans didn't take much notice. Raven, for his part, didn't look very interested in the idea himself (check that expression in the pic above), and he bolted for the sanctuary of ECW shortly after its formation.

That left Vamp and pals to seek new members and form another blanked out collective: 'The Dark Carnival'. In total, Dead Pool lasted around a month or so, failed to capture the same aura Raven's Flock had the prior year and is barely discussed by even the most hardcore of WCW fans.
