10 Short-Lived WWE Pushes You’ve Totally Forgotten

1. Johnny Nitro (2004)

Yes, that is future parkour and "Drip Stick"-lover John Morrison alongside then-Raw GM Eric Bischoff back in 2004. No, Morrison wasn't quite the rockstar-inspired character he'd later become at that stage. Instead, he was actually the walking, talking, living, breathing human embodiment of WCW's Monday Nitro.

WWE actually introduced the guy as Johnny Blaze on the 1 March '04 Raw. Then, they changed his name to Johnny Spade before settling on the Nitro surname. This was all pre-MNM too. Think Val Venis when he morphed into Chief Morley to become Bisch's apprentice/assistant in 2002.

The presentation and role was very similar.

Nitro's first big break only lasted until June. WWE sent him back to developmental after that, he formed a tag-team with Joey Mercury and the rest is history. Before that though, he was in a pretty featured spot on the flagship every week, and most fans probs don't even recall it.
