Brock Lesnar's third Universal Championship reign proved to be pointless, as he went on to drop the belt back to Seth Rollins at SummerSlam the following month. Never one to be overlooked, The Beast Incarnate resurfaced on SmackDown in September and staked his claim at Kofi Kingston's WWE Championship.

As previously noted, the two had crossed paths before, and while it didn't end well for Kingston on that evening, a lot had changed since then. Kingston became a bona fide main event player in 2018 when he won the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35 and was among the best booked world champions the company has had in recent years.

Kingston was beaten by Lesnar in Japan in a measly two and a half minutes, but most fans assumed he'd last longer this time around and put up more of a fight before inevitably losing.

Unfortunately, those fans assumed wrong.

As soon as the bell rang, Kingston went for a Trouble in Paradise but was caught in midair by Lesnar, who landed an F5 on the Ghana native for the emphatic victory. You could almost see the air being sucked out of the arena when the audience in attendance realized it was over that quickly.

The sole defense for this questionable booking decision was that Lesnar needed to look dominant ahead of his rematch with Cain Velasquez at Crown Jewel. However, seeing as how that bout was also on the shorter side, it's worth questioning why WWE continues to have him steamroll through the roster when no one seems to be benefiting as much as he is.
