10 Shortest WWE Intercontinental Title Reigns Of All Time
5. Zack Ryder - 1 Day, 2 Hours
It's hard to be a WWE fan and not feel bad for Zack Ryder. Years after making himself one of the most popular stars in the company and being summarily buried by management, he still gets a great reaction from the WWE Universe. Even the briefest of pushes would give him instant credibility, but the company hasn't felt the need to put in the effort.
Case in point: WrestleMania 32. Ryder wasn't meant to be part of the card, but an injury to Neville left an opening in the Intercontinental Title ladder match. Ryder was put in the match, and in an attempt to create a surprise, he actually got the win, retrieving the belt and putting an end to Kevin Owens's reign.
Still, Ryder's post-match promo - where he referred to the moment as the greatest of his life and said he could retire tomorrow - made it seem like his reign would be short-lived. Sure enough, the following evening on Raw, Miz demanded a shot at the title, and won the belt with help from the returning Maryse.
