10 Sickening In-Ring Injuries You Won't Believe Stars Wrestled Through

8. HHH Tears His Quad

There's a lot of things you can say about HHH: he's full of himself, he takes up too much of the spotlight, and he was never as great as WWE have us believe. But one thing he does have going for him is that he's downright tough. If the average person tore one of their quadriceps, they would immediately be on the ground crying like a little girl. Not Hunter.

During a match with Steve Austin against Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit for the Tag Team Titles, he broke up the Walls of Jericho on Austin, and fell to the ground. It didn't look devastating in the least; after all, it was just Hunter running and falling. For fans watching, they probably didn't think anything was wrong, as he stood right up and rolled out to ringside to remove the monitors from the announce table. Despite being in tremendous pain, he soldiered on and even took the Walls of Jericho on top of the announce table!

The pain must have been insane, but he got up once more just so he could go along with the planned finish of accidentally hitting his tag partner with the sledgehammer. Afterwards, he had to be helped out of the ring on his way back. It would be the last we would see of him for almost a year. While Hunter feared he may have had to retire after the incident, he did return to reclaim his throne at the top of the company.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
