10 Sickening In-Ring Injuries You Won't Believe Stars Wrestled Through

9. Brock Lesnar Nearly Kills Himself

In Brock Lesnar's first WrestleMania match, he wanted to go big, leave a lasting impression in fan's minds. He succeeded at this, but probably not how he had envisioned.

Whilst battling Kurt Angle in a hard-fought main event, he delivered his trademark finishing move the F5 on Angle, and victory was moments away. This could have happily closed the match, but Lesnar had bigger plans, and unexpectedly ascended to the top turnbuckle. In his time in WWE, we'd never seen him do this. Fans weren't sure what to expect, most probably assumed it would be a splash or an elbow drop. Angle was so far away, though, that any top rope maneuver seemed sure to fail.

With this in mind, the last thing fans were expecting was a Shooting Star Press. This is a move that is trying for much smaller guys like Billy Kidman and Evan Bourne. For someone the size of Brock it should have been impossible. But he busted one out, and then nearly busted his neck. The giant of a man soared through the air and came crashing down to the mat with his head and neck slamming into the canvas. It's not hard to imagine that the move could have paralyzed or even killed him, but Brock is a beast. Somehow, he stood up and finished the match. Sure, it was only a quick F5 to end things, but he should have been knocked out cold.

The look on his face after the match said it all: He was glassy eyed, and red faced from the impact. Lesnar did have a memorable WrestleMania moment, but hopefully it's one that will never be repeated.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
