10 Signs WWE WrestleMania 36 Will Be The Worst Ever
6. It's Not Really WrestleMania Weekend
WrestleMania is the Show of Shows and the Showcase of the Immortals, but there's now much more to it than that. The WWE Hall of Fame is a big part of the overall "WrestleMania weekend" experience, as is NXT TakeOver. Neither of those are happening, though, and the often unmissable RAW after WrestleMania is going to be just another taped edition of the show.
With a limited roster, no audience, and surprises almost certainly not scheduled to happen due to all of that, that isn't going to be the sort of RAW we're used to seeing. The crowd makes it, and Vince McMahon's ego means something as huge as a wrestler like CM Punk making his return isn't going to take place in an empty building during a show taped weeks in advance.
WrestleMania may be taking place over two nights now, but it doesn't feel any more important than the other forgettable WWE PPVs that air throughout the year. Much of that is down to the lack of iconic events surrounding the show we're used to seeing, and this might as well just be a ridiculously long version of RAW or SmackDown given the lack of hype surrounding it.
