10 Signs You're A Pro Wrestling Mark

1. Applying Insider Wrestling Terms To Real Life Situations

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7Tx1FM5Gjs It doesn't matter if they've never stepped foot in a ring or taken a bump in their life. Pro wrestling marks will still use insider terms even if they aren't exactly sure of their meaning (trust me, I'm guilty of this, too). The terms "push," "over," and especially "buried" are incredibly overused these days where no one really knows what they mean anymore. If that wasn't enough, marks will still use them even when they're not talking about wrestling. As a mark, wrestling is on your mind 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so it's easy to draw similarities between a real life situation and wrestling. For example, whenever there's a swerve in a movie and a good guy goes bad (or vice versa), a wrestling fan will think to themselves, "What a heel/face turn!" Another example would be when someone messes up and they refer to it as a "botch." It's just our nature and we can't train our brains to be any different. So, how many of these 10 qualities can you relate to? I'm positive there are more sure-fire signs of being mark that I didn't list here, but these were only 10 of the most obvious that came to mind. Be sure to add any that I may have missed in the comments section below.
