As soon as there were those first rumblings of Mick Foley potentially joining AEW, fans have constantly speculated about the prospect of one more match for the WWE Hall of Famer. And now, Mick himself has addressed that particular topic.

Appearing on The Ariel Helwani Show (via f4wonline), Foley admitted that, not only has he thought about wrestling in AEW, but that he believes he's got "one last good match in me."

The former three-time WWE Champion explained:

"It's definitely crossed my mind. You know, the cinematic matches have opened up the door for guys whose cardio may be suspect. But I'll tell you what, this loss of 100 lbs has made my life so much easier. Like, I used to have to stop a couple of times just walking up a moderate hill. And now, I don't even realise I'm walking up hills when I do them, because I'm not really getting winded; not like I used to."

On how a return to action would have to be handled, the Micker added:

"I think that, clearly, if I had a match, it would have to be a match that would avoid trauma to the head. Luckily, there's a whole lot of me to traumatise below the neck, so I think I have one last good match in me. All the stars would have to align. It would have to make sense."

Foley concluded:

"If I can come up with enough of those types of moves that allow me to risk a little bit less while still giving fans a good match, and if I feel like I’m up to it, then maybe a couple of years down the road we will look into that. Stranger things have happened.”

As alluded to, Mick Foley had previously dropped 100 lbs as part of the training process to have one final match - a death match, no less - to mark his 60th birthday last year. Unfortunately, the Hardcore Legend suffered a concussion during this training, causing him to cancel plans for that match. More worryingly, Mick didn't know when or how he suffered that concussion, and so that was a driving factor in him deciding to scrap those plans.

Interestingly, Foley has mentioned how he'd talked to MJF about potentially facing him in that death match, and the pair have already shared the ring together during Mick's short time with AEW. During the Double or Nothing pre-show last month, Mick exchanged verbal barbs with Max ahead of the Salt of the Earth facing Darby Allin for the AEW World Championship later that night. Of course, MJF being MJF, he ended up hitting Foley with a low blow to close out this segment.

Having chosen not to renew his WWE Legends deal due to the market leader's relationship with Donald Trump, Mick Foley formally became #AllElite at Double or Nothing, and he's expected to be a regular presence on AEW programming from here on out.
