10 Silliest Foreign Objects In Wrestling History
3. Worms
Say what you will about Martin Wright and his wildly over the top gimmick – the man knew how to commit to a role.
When the Bogeyman jumped onto Raw screens in 2005 after a bunch of very stylised vignettes, it was one of the strangest debuts in WWE history. It wasn't weird intentionally – it just felt that the Bogeyman was a throwback to the cartoon era of wrestling, which 21st-century fans were (understandably) not that keen on.
The whole thing was really a bit of a fizzer until Wright pulled out a surprising ace. Much to everyone's shock (and the disgust of this writer) the guy somehow managed to utilise earthworms as a form of a foreign object on his opponents. And he didn't use the creepy crawlies just in a box or a container – he carried them in his mouth, and dropped them on his opponents like a momma bird feeding her babies.
As a foreign object goes, it certainly was effective, as you could imagine that his opponents were legitimately creeped and grossed out by having an enormous man carry worms in his gob and drop them on them.
But my word – it was also silly to the point of absurd. It really did make his character feel like a gimmick from the 1980s and despite his dedication, he never really got very far with it.
