Brock Lesnar made his name on SmackDown. When he joined the WWE, it was as part of the blue brand, and it was there he played out legendary feuds with talent like Kurt Angle.

So what better way to have SmackDown put itself back on the map than to have them draft the beast incarnate? Sure, he's not going to be there every week, but just the thought that Brock could turn up is generally enough to get people to tune in. Lesnar is money, and if you put him on SmackDown, you have instant credibility.

Then there's the fact that where Mr Lesnar goes, a certain Mr Heyman tends to follow closely behind. When SmackDown was at its peak, Heyman was in control of the book and while it is too much to wish for him to take that position again, if he is hanging around surely they can at least ask him for some tips?
