10 Sleeping Giants WWE Refuse To Push

7. Shinsuke Nakamura

Shinsuke Nakamura (or Cesaro's other half as he's now more commonly known) was once one of the biggest stars NJPW had to offer.

That's why die-hard fans all around the world - and many of the talents signed to WWE at that point - were over the moon when the company announced they'd got the 'King of Strong Style' to sign on the dotted line.

However, a mere four years later, Nakamura has gone from generational talent to a bog-standard speed-bump heel on Friday Night SmackDown.

It didn't have to be this way.

If Vince McMahon simply had the balls to commit to a Nakamura WWE title win against AJ Styles at WrestleMania 34, the star could have gone on to become another charismatic big-time player in the company. He probably would have helped WWE seriously engage with the Japanese market for years to come, too.

Yet, it seems as though Nakamura has completely given up on being presented as anything more than a B+ villain in WWE, with the star sleepwalking through most of his television appearances since his aforementioned nightmare dick-punching feud with Styles in 2018.

McMahon clearly isn't interested in 'The Artist' anymore, so this global superstar-in-waiting looks set to be wasted for the remainder of his tenure in the company.
