10 Sleeping Giants WWE Refuse To Push

6. John Morrison

It was a bit of a surprise when WWE initially parted ways with John Hennigan (or Morrison as he was known in the company) back in 2011.

Morrison was a supremely talented wrestler who definitely exuded a certain star quality. However, it seemed as though the performer was tired of his current spot and he was also pretty banged up after years working the gruelling WWE schedule.

After Hennigan left, he went on to show Vince McMahon exactly what he was capable of when thrown into a top position in other companies and given some space to breathe as a performer. He ended up holding the Lucha Underground Championship, Impact World Championship and even produced his own movie, Boone: The Bounty Hunter, in 2017.

Sensing they may have made a mistake in allowing Hennigan to leave so easily, WWE eventually brought him back in 2019. Yet, Morrison was thrown straight into a tag team with his old pal The Miz and he's since been playing pretty much the same role he did in the promotion before his departure nearly ten years earlier.

Morrison has the charisma, looks and ability to be a legitimate draw for McMahon's empire, but the boss clearly prefers to see him being swatted by Braun Strowman on a weekly basis.
