In another example of a star going from hot property in NXT to everyday jobber on the main roster, Kairi Sane sits as one of the most criminally underused stars in WWE today.
Not only is she a former NXT Women's Champion with stellar showings against stars like Shayna Baszler, Bianca Belair and Io Shirai on her resume, but she was also the first ever Mae Young Classic winner in 2017.
Unfortunately, as soon as the exciting Pirate Princess arrived on the main roster, she was thrown straight into a tag team with another incredible performer WWE had completely fumbled in Asuka.
The Kabuki Warriors may still be going strong today, but you can't help but wonder how big a star Sane could seriously be if WWE just gave her a proper run as a singles performer - and fully got behind her bonkers Pirate schtick.
There's a reason Stardom were trying to bring both her and Shirai back to their company earlier this year; they know both of the brilliant performers have the makings of bonafide superstars. If WWE don't realise that in the near future (and somehow manage to balls up Shirai's current NXT Women's Championship reign) they could be forced to say goodbye to arguably two of the brightest stars in wrestling today.
