10 Small Details Wrestling Still Can’t Get Right

5. Financial Impact

Most wrestling fans growing up would've believed that every single man and woman on television was a millionaire. Why wouldn't they be? They were WWE Superstars, for crying out loud, and they were akin to rockstars or Hollywood's finest. The truth is that not everyone is swimming in seas of cash.

Still, they're hardly skint.

One summer storyline called for Shane McMahon to fine Kevin Owens $100,000 for putting his hands on an official (Elias) at SummerSlam. Immediately, KO fell to his knees and claimed that Shane was putting the future of his family at risk. How would he be able to pay for his kids to go through college or university with such a penalty?

Owens might not be WWE's best-paid star, but it's difficult to believe that his entire world would crumble over $100,000. WWE tried the same realistic edge when multi-time World Champion Shawn Michaels claimed in 2009 that the world's financial meltdown meant he had to become a chef. It was far-fetched at best.
