6. Rusev Is A “Sex Addict”
Vince McMahon was clutching at some sordid straws near the end of his reign as WWE's overseer. He reached into his bag of tricks to pull out shock value, which is presumably why Lana started having a very public affair with Bobby Lashley right in front of her husband Rusev towards the end of 2019.
There were tongues on Raw. Tongues!
OK, so that wasn't too shocking, but Rusev's whole "sex addict" thing was. By "shocking", read: Absolutely awful and unwanted by fans who just wanted to chill out and enjoy some WWE TV without such awkwardness. According to Lana, Ru-Ru was the one who needed help. Meanwhile, she cavorted with Lashley in-ring and invited cameras into their hotel room to watch them get intimate.
There were underlying cuckolding vibes to the whole thing too. Later, Rusev/Miro claimed WWE actually wanted him to have erectile dysfunction issues on top of everything else, but they stopped short of poking fun at people for that sort of thing. Keep in mind, all of this was supposed to get Rusev over as a babyface.
It'd end up being his final storyline with the company instead.
