10 Sneaky Tributes To WWE Greats

1. CM Punk (Eddie Guerrero)

Another classic Eddie Guerrero moment came when he pretended that Mr. Kennedy had clocked him with a steel chair on the 11 November 2005 SmackDown. With a nod and wink towards fans grinning from ear to ear, Guerrero succeeded in convincing the ref that Kennedy deserved to be disqualified.

Genius.

CM Punk borrowed that brilliance on the 28 November 2011 edition of Raw during his WWE Title match with Alberto Del Rio. When the ref caught Del Rio untying one of the turnbuckle pads, he went over to check it - that left the door open for Ricardo Rodriguez to slide a steel chair in, which Del Rio then threw at Punk.

He caught it, slammed it against the mat himself and then chucked the chair back at Alberto. The official didn't DQ the heel on this occasion, but the distraction did let Punk roll him up for a near fall, and it worked just as well as Eddie's spot six years prior.
