So, when Darren Till was announced in the main event of Fight Night 130 at Liverpool's Echo Arena, a homecoming like no other was inevitably on the cards.
Yet, even though a warm welcome was to be expected, no one could foresee the degree of intense vocal worshipping that took place when Till skipped down to the Octagon.
