10 Stars Whose UFC Careers Will Likely End In 2020
9. Megan Anderson
Former Invicta FC Featherweight Champion Megan Anderson has shared the Octagon with some pretty big names since her UFC debut back in June of 2018. The six-foot tall Australian has fought former UFC champ Holly Holm and even defeated former title challenger Cat Zingano during her time with the promotion.
The tall, tattooed knockout artist is an exciting fighter with a marketable persona. Moreover, with a 2-2 record in the UFC, she is no immediate danger of being cut due to performance issues.
However, her division, women's featherweight (145), may not be part of the UFC much longer.
The promotion recently parted ways with the division's biggest stars Cris Cyborg, following her loss to current champ Amanda Nunes. In truth, the UFC created a Women's Featherweight Championship so they could capitalize on Cyborg's star power, but they never really bothered to fill out the rest of the division.
Women's featherweight is the promotion's only weight class without an official top 15 rankings since there aren't enough fighters under contract. Moreover, the organization doesn't appear to be looking for new talent to add.
Now that there is no big money rematch between Cyborg and Nunes to be had, the UFC may decide to do away with the division altogether — especially since there are no viable title challenger at the moment.
If the weight class folds, Anderson, who is a large featherweight, won't be able to drop down to bantamweight and will likely be heading to Bellator or possibly returning to Invicta FC.
