10 Stars WWE Should Never Have Let Go

7. Shelton Benjamin

Shelton Benjamin recently returned to WWE and now works in a tag-team on SmackDown with ex-American Alpha man Chad Gable. A replacement for Jason Jordan, the veteran looks like he hasn't missed a step. That's probably because he was still a world class worker when WWE nonsensically released Shelton in April, 2010.

Canned alongside names like Jimmy Wang Yang, Kung Fu Naki, and Slam Master J, the obviously talented Benjamin stood out. Whilst those guys were little more than supporting acts, Shelton had consistently shown he was one of the best athletes under contract. If only he could do promos, the man would have been a multi-time World Champ by now.

Even without top notch mic skills though, Shelton should have been kept around. Trimming the fat on the roster is one thing, but throwing someone like Benjamin on the scrap heap is another. WWE should have persevered with Benjamin, or given him a manager to make up for those suspect promos.
