10 Stars With More WWE Title Reigns Than They Deserve

2. John Cena

WWE.comWWE.comHands up, who thought John Cena would be top of this list? In truth, it was incredibly tough to split Cena and the man who knocked him off top spot. Should anyone ever overtake Ric Flair's illustrious record of 16 world titles? Well to be honest (to borrow a phrase from The Rock), it doesn't matter what you think. John Cena will end his career as the most decorated star in the WWE history; it's only a matter of time. Sure, he's the face of the company, and it is to be expected that he picks up a fair few championships throughout his career. But 14 world titles to his name already (including 11 as WWE Champion, three more than anyone else) is absolutely jaw-dropping. The WWE's insistence to have him rarely lose out without it being a grave miscarriage of justice (in the eyes of Cena's army of fans) sees him win multiple titles on multiple occasions. And as well as that, those reigns are often momentary, with him dropping the belt for a couple of months before eventually winning it back. That means he has shot towards Flair's legendary record without any real substance or relevance - which is an absolute travesty. Going on the law of averages, John Cena will end his career with more world titles than CM Punk, Shawn Michaels and Brock Lesnar combined. Unbalanced? It doesn't even come close.
