10 Step Guide To Surviving A Hell In A Cell Match

8. Keep Family Out Of It

We've established that fighting alongside a trusted friend can help gain an edge within the foreboding Cell. Despite this, there's a limit to just how close you are to your chosen ally, as proven by the WWE's Apex Predator. Randy Orton's "Legend Killer" gimmick was in full swing by the end of 2005. Having already disrespected such hallowed figures as Ric Flair, Harley Race, and Mick Foley, his sights at Armageddon were firmly set on the Undertaker. Realising he was unlikely to beat the Phenom one-on-one, Randy decided to enlist the help of a legend of his own: "Cowboy" Bob Orton. Father and son entered into a war of mind games with the Deadman in the build-up to the match, mocking and enraging Undertaker by stealing his prized urn. Ultimately, bringing daddy along for the ride would prove to be an unwise decision on Orton's part. Initially staying at ringside and watching his son get bloodied and battered, Bob eventually ventured inside the Cell itself. He was only able to delay Randy's rate, pulling the referee out of the ring to disrupt a pinfall, but eventually the Undertaker prevailed with a thunderous tombstone (and an extra one for Bob's interference). This match really stands up over time, reminding us of an era when Randy was a lot fresher - in both his youthful appearance and interesting character. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVaxj2437s8
