10 Stiffest WWE Wrestlers Ever

8. Ronnie Garvin

So 'Rugged' was Ronnie Garvin that he felt like an interloper in the WWF's bright, cartoonish world when he was there from 1988 to 1990, despite sharing a locker-room with Greg Valentine, Haku, and other legendary hardnuts.

Garvin and the WWF were a poor match. Though Ronnie's run there wasn't without merit, yielding a particularly great match with Valentine at Royal Rumble 1990, he was ultimately too rough and tumble a fighter to make it in this glossy entertainer's world. Stylistically, the lighter-working Brain Busters transitioned well from the territories (until Tully Blanchard tested positive for cocaine). Garvin, largely, did not.

Ronnie was more compelling and convincing in environments better-suited to his hard-hitting style. Watching him tear through jobbers on the mid-80s World Championship Wrestling shows remains a ghoulish joy, particularly as he pins most by arrogantly sitting on their chest, his fist tucked beneath his chin, showing them as much regard as he would a clump of dog sh*t on his boot. Garvin brought it in bigger matches too, lighting Ric Flair up throughout their NWA World Heavyweight Championship feud.

Sadly, his character and promo work were as stiff as his strikes, tanking Ronnie's run on top - and his hopes of superstardom.
