6. Leaving His Mic On
Fellow manager Jimmy Hart was one of the first to commend Heenan, after the news broke this week, for his role in keeping locker room spirits high during the WWF's Golden Age (the one that JBL has apparently tried to fill in the years since).
With natural wit and a penchant for gut-busting comedy - many have suggested that he would have comfortably found success in mainstream entertainment if he ever got bored with wrestling - 'The Brain' was clearly one of the biggest and most colorful wrestling characters of his generation.
In 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan's autobiography, for example, he recalls how Heenan, in between topping his "water" bottle up with vodka, was known for deliberately leaving his microphone switched on whilst he headed to the toilet during a shoot, so that he could empty his bladder in front of an audience.
