Your writer's taken pelters for giving up on this gimmick as the Hell In A Cell main event was still in progress, but the decision was made in tandem with the writing team and/or their maniacal old boss that allowed it to play out as such.

An unmitigated disaster for both men, the title they fought for, the structure they wrestled in and the very future of the pay-per-view that has worn the gimmick out over the past decade, The Fiend's premature Universal Championship match against Seth Rollins failed to deal with the problem the matchmaking had created. Neither man could lose so thought the company (wrong), as the first f*cking chapter of the story took place within what was once the absolute final resting place for a blood feud. And the stuff spewing from Seth Rollins' mouth at the end of the show didn't count.
