10 Strange Things WWE Champions Did With The Belt

1. Ordered Some Food (Dean Ambrose)

Dean Ambrose
WWE

“Bring your f*cking dinner” was an old blood-and-thunder UK football manager’s expression popularised by then-Leyton Orient boss John Sitton in the 1990s, instructing opposition to pack food for the long haul due to the long old scrap they were in for.

Had somebody called out Dean Ambrose in the same way back in 2016?

Then-WWE Champion, Ambrose spent more of his time p*ssing about than many would have expected, not least with the Jon Moxley persona latterly exhibited in NJPW and AEW still lingering within him. Feuds with Dolph Ziggler and AJ Styles didn’t particularly captivate, nor did an a*se-clenchingly awkward interview with Steve Austin that surely marked “The Lunatic Fringe” as a midcarder-4-life to Vince McMahon once he’d gotten one of his underlings to watch it and report back.

Such was the situation here - with New Orleans beads around his neck and title slung over his shoulder, Ambrose perusing the menu as the industry’s top titleholder was a cute look even if his character had played far too fast and loose with the audience’s trust to see this sort of silly shenanigan as a mere aside. This took place within months of Mitch The Plant and his p*ss-weak programme with Brock Lesnar. Everything comes in trifectas, but nobody wanted a one dose of wackiness, let alone three.
