For the Jules Verne aficionado in your life, these nifty illuminating steampunk goggles may just be the ideal accoutrement. For everybody else, less so.

Though there's no question that they're cool, what the actual point of them is remains a mystery. Are they used for protection? One suspects light-up glasses aren't ideal underwater equipment. Do they offer any Splinter Cell-style visual enhancements such as night-vision or thermal imaging? For under a tenner, the likely answer is: "no".

Ultimately, they're nothing more than a neat little prop, for all you would-be Lynchers out there. Otherwise, the goggles, they do nothing.
