3. Velveteen Dream Standee

Velveteen Dream is not the most popular professional wrestler in the world today, an understatement and then some. Once viewed as NXT's most exciting prospect, Velveteen's year has been a car crash at every single turn, professionally and personally. The sexual harassment allegations levelled at Dream remain a very open issue, and the former North American Champion seems to have gone backwards as an actual performer.

Standees are very weird in general, but a standee of a former prospect turned potential criminal? Yeah, that's another level of weird. The argument over whether or not Velveteen Dream should be on TV at all is one that will rage and rage for weeks and weeks, but there should be no dispute over whether or not standees of the man should be available.

Scratch that, standees of anyone shouldn't be available. Cardboard cutouts of topless men are a bit too far out there, especially for a corporation primarily marketed at children and the elderly. A cardboard cutout of a man accused of sending explicit photos to underage people on social media? Yet another example of WWE getting things very, very wrong.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
