10 Strangest Ways Wrestlers Were Written Off TV
1. John Cena Is Stabbed In A Club
Long before he was starring in movies like Bumblebee and Fast and Furious 9, John Cena was taking his first steps into the world of filmmaking with a WWE produced feature known as The Marine in 2004.
However, in order to find the time to shoot this heart-stopping action flick, Cena would need to be written off WWE television for a while. So, during his feud with debuting star Carlito, Cena lost his U.S. title to the newcomer and was abruptly 'injured'. This kept him out of action for a month.
Yet, his faux-injury didn't come during a bout with the performer who spat in the face of people who didn't want to be cool. Instead, Cena was cut down (quite literally) after being allegedly stabbed by Carlito's bodyguard Jesus in a Boston nightclub.
The storyline wound to his kidney would keep him off WWE TV until Survivor Series, where Cena returned as part of Team Guerrero to beat Team Angle on the night.
He'd then win back his belt from Carlito on the next episode of SmackDown and instead of pressing charges against Jesus, he just beat him in a street fight at Armageddon. Each to their own.
