6. Reverse Battle Royal
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0uSg2i-bqo&scrlybrkr=0e404026 Battle royals have been a pro-wrestling institution for an age. The formula is well established and works. So leave it to Total Nonstop Action wrestling to take a totally fine match concept and make it completely stupid and needlessly complicated. Instead of a traditional battle royal where wrestlers attempt to throw each over over the top rope and to the floor, the Reverse Battle Royal is exactly what it sounds like: wrestlers start on the floor and attempt to fight their way inside the ring. This results in a bunch of guys bunched together on the small area around the ring with no discernible way to tell what's going on or who is winning the match. In 2007, TNA took this a step further by adding more wrinkles to this already pointless endeaavor. Once 10 men had fought their way inside the ring, the match switched over to being a traditional battle royal with the wrestlers being ranked 1-10 based on their elimination order. Once the match was down to two guys, it turned into a regular one-on-one match. Listen, this stuff isn't Shakespeare - throw a guy over the top, win the match. Why all the unnecessary rules? Did TNA actually think they were being "innovative" with this stuff? They might as well have a ladder match but call it a 'Reverse Ladder Match' and force two guys to try and fight their way down a ladder. Classic TNA.
