10 Stunning Displays Of WWE Arrogance

6. Pumping Millions Into Linda McMahon's Political Career

In 2010 and 2012, WWE went into hype overload for the idea that Linda McMahon was set to conquer the world of politics. Trying to run for U.S Senate in Connecticut, Linda's campaigning ate up a whole load of McMahon funding. Worst of all, it swallowed up money that would have been better served funding the WWE product. It's no mistake that programming took a noticeable dip during both campaigns. That's because Vince was otherwise engaged on the public relations train trying to hype up his wife's ambitions. It's fine to support Linda, fans didn't have a problem with Vince doing that, but when WWE clearly needed attention it's pretty unforgiveable. All of a sudden, pictures cropped up everywhere of Vince and Linda posing with fans and trying to gain support for their campaign. It almost seemed like WWE fully expected all wrestling fans to be behind the idea of Linda McMahon running for government. In truth, few cared about the concept. People weren't tuning in to Monday Night Raw to be hit with political propaganda, they wanted wrestling. Vince would later tell the media that he detested many of the political people he was forced to socialise with, and Linda didn't even achieve anything. All that happened was that the McMahons wasted a whole load of money.
