10 Stupidest Things That Ever Happened In TNA

3. Sting Attacks RVD As A 'Sting Fan'

Earlier, TNA were taken to task for making Rob Van Dam look like a 1980s-style jobber during his company debut on 8 March 2010. Admittedly, RVD did win his match against Sting before the face-painted legend battered him senseless with a baseball bat, but that rushed nonsense was nothing compared to what happened next.

Sting ambushed RVD from the stands, masquerading as a fan to trick him. Then, in a moment so dumb even the announcers struggled to take it seriously, Sting removed his Sting mask to show he had a fully-painted face. In other words, the mask he was wearing to hide in amongst all the marks was totally pointless.

He didn't need to wear it.

It was obvious to anyone watching that Van Dam hadn't seen Sting anyway; his rival was hiding behind some fans leaning over the barrier for high fives, so there was no need to cover his face with a mask painted the same as his actual face.
