When Daniel Bryan was fired after The Nexus made their debut on the June 7, 2010 edition of Raw, fans were p***ed off, and rightfully so. The reason for his dismissal was totally stupid: Bryan was fired choking ring announcer Justin Roberts with a tie and spitting on John Cena. WWE deemed these actions to not be in keeping with their TV-PG rating. Bryan and the Nexus were instructed to be aggressive and physical as a way to make a huge impact during their debut. In his autobiography, Bryan said that they weren't given specific instructions about what they could and couldn't do, so he just did what he thought was appropriate. By the following week's Raw, he was gone and his name was not mentioned again. Two months later (he worked indie shows in the interim) WWE brought Bryan back to the company as part of the SummerSlam 2010 main event, teaming with Team WWE to oppose the Nexus. It was WWE's way of admitting they may have overreacted and made a mistake. If what he did was so bad then he never would have been brought back. It's nice of WWE to realize they were in the wrong and give Bryan a second chance.
